Our Story

Founded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2017 by Betselot Zewge, Zemenay is Ethiopia's first plus size fashion brand changing the narrative in the size inclusive fashion industry.

Zemenay works by using art as a means of expression to make it's sustainably made wearable art. Sustainability, storytelling and body positivity are the core pillars of our brand identity. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact by employing eco-friendly practices throughout our system. We prioritize the preservation of our planet and believe that sustainable fashion can coexist with style and innovation, and we strive to create timeless pieces that stand the test of time. 

Our design philosophy is rooted in creativity, artistry, and minimalism. For us fashion is an art form, and each garment we create is a canvas for self-expression and deeper meanings to a story.

Apart from being featured on Vogue Italy, Zemenay has participated on different stages both nationally and internationally like Hub of Africa fashion week for three consecutive years, Berlin fashion week’s Neo fashion platform in Germany ,Cape town week of fashion and participated in CANEX at Intra African trade fair held in Egypt Cairo.
