Bogolan Handwoven & Natural Dye Textile Bogolan Mudcloth Fabric
African Textil
Mix of earth and water, the combination of life, Bogolan
African Textil is a mudcloth bogolan fabric producer and supplier of handmade and eco-friendly African fabrics from remote areas of West Africa to modern taste.
Bogolan is a Malian fabric dyed using a technique used in Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Senegal and composed of a more or less thick cotton canvas, spun and woven 100% by hand, and patterns dyed with fermented mud and other organic dyes. The dyeing technique is 100% organic, free from any kind of harmful chemicals. The symbols on the fabric are uniquely drawn by artisans to tell traditional stories about the people of the region.
Once used by warriors and hunters for camouflage, Bogolan fabric is used today around the world to illustrate its attachment to African culture. This fabric has multiple applications: cushions, tablecloth, rug, upholstered furniture, etc. Additionally, it can also be used as a sofa or armchair throw to suit your desired preferences.

All our fabrics are exclusively produced in Africa. These are rare traditional products highlighting ancestral know-how (Bogolan from Mali, Lépi from Guinea-Conakry, Burkina Faso woven loincloth, Moroccan Berber fabrics). In addition, our approach is to be able to truly share the added value by equitably paying our suppliers throughout West Africa.
